About 2 to 3 cups of dry food is needed to satisfy their feeding requirement. Meals can be divided into two meals. Clean, fresh water should be available at all times.
This dog just shed a small amount of hair. It is recommended for dog owners who do not want dog fur on their vehicles or houses. Occasional baths and weekly brushings with a horsehair mitt or de-shedding glove to pull away dead hairs will help keep them in beautiful condition.
Even though the hairless variety appears maintenance-free, this is not the case. Daily grooming is expected in addition to regular nail clipping to keep them looking good. The Chinese Crested's skin is sensitive and takes special care. The Hairless Chinese Crested needs to be bathed often and massaged with lotions or creams to keep its skin supple.
Brushing the Powder Puff is needed on a regular basis, with special attention required while the dog is shedding. If the woolly undercoat is ignored, it can get matted.
While it might be tempting to carry your Chinese Crested, they are active dogs that need regular exercise. Since they are such a small breed, they only need 30 minutes of exercise per day. They enjoy a little run around in an enclosed garden in addition to their regular walks.
They'll need to see the vet on a constant schedule, particularly because they're vulnerable to eye problems and other health issues. Early diagnosis is critical for providing the right care for any health issues that might occur.
Routine checkups are also an important aspect of preventative care because they enable you to watch your dog's growth and progress.
Cresteds are great family dogs that enjoy spending time with their owners. They adore sweet, gentle children! And while Chinese Cresteds get along well with children, they should not be left unsupervised because they are prone to get injured because of their cute size.
This fun-loving, affectionate, and endearing family breed, needs proper socialization for the Chinese Crested since they can become timid and fearful of people.
Known to be intelligent and very alert, Cresteds are not difficult dogs to train. They do well in obedience type sports. Oftentimes, they are taught tricks as they quickly grasp what is required of them. The Powderpuff is great at learning and performing tricks! Consistency is a must, however, this breed can be relatively sensitive and should have a gentle trainer.
