Toy Poodles are the smallest variety of the Poodle breed, originally developed from the Standard Poodle. Of the Toy Poodle

The Toy Poodle, the smallest of the three Poodle varieties, traces its roots back to the same lineage as the Standard and Miniature Poodles. While the Poodle originated in Germany as a water retriever (the name comes from the German word “pudel,” meaning “to splash”), it was in France that the breed was refined and gained popularity, especially as a companion dog. The Toy Poodle was developed by selectively breeding smaller Miniature Poodles, primarily for companionship among the European elite. By the 18th century, Toy Poodles had become fashionable lapdogs among French nobility and were especially prized for their intelligence, charm, and elegant appearance.

Despite their small stature, Toy Poodles share the same keen intelligence and trainability as their larger counterparts.
